Pillows
While you may not think about it, pillows play a big role in the lives of most people. Think about it: you probably spend over one third of your entire life with a pillow under your head. If you are willing to concede that point, then you may also want to consider that even more time is then spend with pillows under you, on your lap, or even behind your back. Pillows are everywhere and from time to time it is a good idea to think about the things you often take for granted even though they play a big role in our lives.
Types Of Pillows
If you are having trouble with the pillows as big players in your life, then think about all the types of pillows that are out there that you are having contact with every day or nearly every day. For instance, there are decorative pillows on chair, sofas, loveseats, and even daybeds. When you sit on one, what do you do with the decorative throw pillows? You probably hold them or sit on them.
IN addition to that, think about couch pillows. You know, the ones you lean on, lay on, sit on, or use to support your lumbar as you watch endless ours of football or daytime soaps.
With just those two basic types of pillows, think about how much time you are spending in contact with pillows. That does not even include the staple: the pillow in your bed on which you lie every night as you sleep.
Pillow Options
With so many pillows out there, think about what they are all made of. Pillows can be made of virtually anything. There are down pillows that are filled with small feathers, there are quilted pillows that are soft to the outside touch, and there are even those ringbearer pillows at weddings that are covered in silk and filled tightly with cotton. Every pillow is different and still they have managed to permeate the fabric of life in western civilization.
So whether it is a pixie pillow on a sofa or a pillow fight in your dorm, pillows have found a way to touch you in many different ways and in many different times. Though you may not have thought about it before, pillows are a big part of your life and are there whenever you need comforting. The next time you scoot that throw pillow over, just think about what you owe those pillows; it is certainly a lot.
